Bridging Cultures
International Festival of Music, Theater, Culinary Arts, Cinema, and Art
Thursday, June 19 | 18:00, Hall 5
Director: Ferzan Özpetek | Italy, 2024 | Feature | 135 minutes
A film director gathers his favorite actresses – those he has worked with and those he admires. He observes them, draws inspiration, and writes a script that takes their stories to 1970s Rome, where sisters Alberta and Gabriella run a prestigious fashion house. The sound of sewing machines and the voices of the seamstresses fill the air from morning to evening. Colors, sewing, and fabric are at the heart of the film; but within this close-knit community of seamstresses, much drama unfolds.
