Crossing

Lea, a retired teacher, sets out to fulfill a promise she made to her late sister: to find her transgender niece, Tekla, who ran away from home, and to learn what happened to her. When she realizes that Tekla left Georgia and fled to Turkey, she embarks on a journey to Istanbul, accompanied by Achi – a young, free-spirited neighbor who just wants to enjoy himself and party in the big city. In many ways, he is the complete opposite of the tough, serious woman Lea is. Lost in a vibrant city full of possibilities, the two try to track down Teklaת but they soon discover that it’s not easy to find someone who never wanted to be found.
